Through our College Access\, College Success\, and Career Success programs\, students receive one-on-one support\, resources\, and professional development from high school through graduation and beyond. Embedded within our programs is our Black Student Engagement\, which seeks to empower Black/African American high school students and families with the knowledge and skills necessary to make an educated social\, emotional\, and financially sound college decision. We partner with high schools and community colleges to offer various avenues of senior-year and community college transfer programming that assists students and families as they transition from high school or community college to their post-secondary pathway and beyond. We then support students throughout their post secondary education at colleges and universities and prepare them with skills for career success. \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n “Being part of this community has shaped my identity in ways I never expected. This highly successful\, cross-collaborative event provided a full day of focused college readiness support and engagement. \n \n \n \n Students had opportunities to: Apply to colleges: five seniors were admitted on the spot to multiple colleges and universities!Receive 1:1 and small-group support in starting their 10\,000 Degrees scholarship application. Thirty one students completed the short-answer essay and only need to finalize their FAFSA/CADAA application to submit their scholarship application!Engage directly with admissions representatives from over 60+ colleges and universities\, including a strong presence of Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs).Attend free workshops provided by the National College Resource Foundation (NCRF) covering essential topics like scholarships\, financial aid\, and the college admissions process.Attend guided campus tours led by current Sacramento State students\, offering an authentic glimpse into college life. \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Black College Expo Field Trip to Oakland \n \n \n \n Our recent Black Student College Expo Field trip to Oakland included over 80 high school and community college students from Contra Costa\, Marin\, Napa\, Sonoma\, San Francisco\, and San Mateo. The Expo provided an exciting and informative experience for students! The event was a huge success! Several students were awarded scholarships\, while others received on-the-spot admissions to multiple colleges/universities and many completed their scholarship applications. In partnership with College Track\, 10\,000 Degrees was able to incorporate college access and success programming into the field trip. Thank you to our partners at College Track that allowed us to host the field trip in their Community Space in Oakland.
