School Partnerships
We support students in over 44 high schools and 251 community colleges and universities nationwide. Students receive support from Fellows who connect meaningfully with them through their shared experiences, content expertise, and unwavering belief in the potential of every student.
"Train the Trainer" Workshops
We work with teachers, administrators, and counselors at our partner schools, and present “Train the Trainer” workshops to share best practices, such as how to support undocumented students, and how to help students complete financial aid applications that are now a requirement for high school graduation.
"Money Matters: Budgeting for College" Workshops
These workshops use an interactive financial aid literacy curriculum designed by 10,000 Degrees to teach high school students how to juggle fixed budgets and flexible pricing for college-related expenses, including books, transportation, electronics, and housing. Students leave with a new appreciation of the challenges of making ends meet while also realizing college is affordable.
Academic Success Program in Marin County
Established in 1997 as Marin County School Volunteers, our 130 volunteers now provide 4,000+ hours of academic tutoring, classroom support, and homework assistance to students in all grades at 26 Marin County schools each year. Tutors also provide valued support at other 10,000 Degrees events, such as “Money Matters” workshops and college essay writing sessions.
We collaborate with:
- Academic, college/career counselors
- Teachers
- School & district administrators
- District & high school family liaisons
- District homeless/foster youth support teams & social workers
- Local colleges
- Community-based organizations
