10,000 Degrees Celebrates “ONE Amazing Community” Benefiting Bay Area Students
ONE Amazing Community Gala to be Held In-Person and Virtually

San Rafael, Calif. (April 12, 2022) – 10,000 Degrees, an organization dedicated to empowering students to enter and graduate college in seven Bay Area counties, hosts its annual fundraiser gala, ONE Amazing Community, on Saturday, May 7 at the Bill and Adele Jonas Center, College of Marin Indian Valley Campus in Novato.
ONE Amazing Community will include opportunities for supporters who cannot attend the in-person gala to participate through a virtual celebration, and five satellite soirées in four of the seven regions 10,000 Degrees serves: San Francisco, South Bay, Napa, and Marin. 10,000 Degrees staff and alumni speakers will share impact stories at each soirée.
This year’s ONE DEGREE of Change honoree will be Lisa Wittke Schaffner, CEO of North Coast Builders Exchange, former executive director of the John Jordan Foundation, and board trustee of the Sonoma County Office of Education. She will be honored for her deep commitment and advocacy of youth, education, and community in Sonoma County.
The ONE Amazing Community gala program will include California Senator Mike McGuire, who will serve as guest auctioneer, and a live performance by musical artist Kaila Love. The gala will also include a jazz music performance by students from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music.
ONE Amazing Community celebrates and recognizes the contributions of many in the community who have played a role in helping achieve educational equity and have supported students from low-income backgrounds achieve their dreams of becoming college graduates.
