On Saturday, October 18, 10,000 Degrees – a San Rafael-based nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing quality education and career opportunities to support students from low-income backgrounds to, through and beyond college – will host its second annual ‘Hoop For Change’ fundraiser event at the Ultimate Fieldhouse in Walnut Creek. The event will feature students from Ygnacio Valley, Mt. Diablo, Antioch, Deer Valley and other local high schools participating in a free-throw shoot-a-thon. Participants will have a chance to win prizes such as a PlayStation 5, signed Steph Curry poster, signed Moses Moody basketball, signed Warriors’ jersey, Warriors tickets and more.
The ‘Hoop For Change’ fundraiser is expected to be an exciting and fun opportunity for participants of all ages to make an impact in their communities and to support Contra Costa students from low-income backgrounds to access quality college education and achieve career success. The event is free and open to the public.
The fundraising event will benefit 10,000 Degrees, which supports students from low-income backgrounds through scholarships, financial advising, mentorship guidance, internship opportunities and more. It will also benefit Ygnacio Valley, Mt. Diablo, Antioch and Deer Valley basketball programs.
