Local Students and Community Members Invited to Free 10,000 Degrees ‘Hoop For Change: Free-Throw Shoot-A-Thon’ Fundraiser
On Saturday, November 1, 10,000 Degrees will host its second annual ‘Hoop For Change’ fundraiser at Davidson Middle School in San Rafael. Local students and community members will participate in a free-throw shoot-a-thon and have a chance to win prizes such as a PlayStation 5, autographed souvenirs by NBA stars Stephen Curry and Moses Moody, tickets to upcoming Golden State Warriors games and more.
10,000 Degrees started ‘Hoop For Change’ in 2024. Last year, the fundraising event had over 80 participants—ranging in age from 3rd graders to adults—in three locations, Walnut Creek, San Rafael, and Santa Rosa, to shoot free-throws and take photos with Golden State Warriors alum, Zaza Pachulia, who made a guest appearance. The event raised over $40,000 for 10,000 Degrees students from low-income backgrounds. On Saturday, November 8, 10,000 Degrees will host the fourth in its 2025 ‘Hoop for Change’ series at 600indiana, a new basketball training gym operated by Kenny Hatch Basketball from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
WHAT
10,000 Degrees hosts ‘Hoop For Change’ fundraiser free-throw shoot-a-thon. Funds will help 10,000 Degrees open pathways to college and career success for low-income students in the Bay Area, and also benefit North Bay Basketball Academy at the Nov 1 event in San Rafael, and 600indiana/Kenny Hatch Basketball at the Nov 8th event in San Francisco. The event is free and open to the public.
‘Hoop for Change’ is presented by Comerica and sponsored by the Law Office of Brian H. Turner, Loomis Sayles, Mariner Wealth Advisors, Golden State Community Foundation, KHB Wine Consulting, Mira Law Group, Monterey Plaza Hotel & Spa, North Bay Basketball Academy, Peregrine, Poppy Bank, United States Coast Guard, VetnCare, and Innovative Screen Printing.
