10,000 Degrees is honored to receive the Bay Area Host Committee’s Community Impact Award, which was presented at Levi’s Stadium on Thursday, December 11, 2025 and featured on NBC News—who called us a “Scholarship Powerhouse.”
This recognition reflects the belief at the heart of Traci Lanier’s acceptance remarks: that our region’s greatest asset is its people.
We were honored to be joined by alum Imani Lawson, whose story—and the video featuring her journey—was instrumental in our selection. Now a structural engineer, STEM advocate, and entrepreneur, Imani embodies what happens when opportunity meets talent.
This award belongs to the 16,000 students, alumni, and families we support each year. Too many opportunities remain out of reach for talented young people. Yet, as Traci shared, “when students are given the support, resources, and belief they deserve, communities thrive.”
As the Bay Area prepares to host Super Bowl 60 and the 2026 FIFA World Cup, this recognition elevates our mission and the collective effort required to support students in shaping our region’s future.
Thank you to the Bay Area Host Committee and Kaiser Permanente for shining a light on the power of education. And thank you to every supporter who stands with us—our students need us now more than ever.
