Founded in Marin in 1981, 10,000 Degrees has expanded to seven additional Bay Area counties plus Utah, serving more than 16,000+ high school and college students each year. The Utah Jazz NBA basketball team partnered with 10,000 Degrees to help send underrepresented students in Utah to college, pledging to fund a four-year scholarship for a Utah university-bound student for each win in the 2020-21 and 2021-22 seasons. From 2020-2022, The Utah Jazz won 114 times and awarded 114 scholarships, each paired with 10,000 Degrees comprehensive support for four years!
The team partnered with us because of our deep scholarship expertise and our national, 40+ year reputation as a leading equity-focused college success nonprofit serving thousands of first-gen students from low-income backgrounds and BIPOC communities.

“I am beyond thankful for the opportunity the Utah Jazz and 10,000 Degrees gave me—the opportunity to attend college and succeed in my goals.”

“We believe strongly in the power of education to change lives. The Utah Jazz Scholars Program reflects our desire to help students from underrepresented groups who have historically received fewer resources and less support. It’s amazing to think about the fact that for every win the Jazz have this season, a student will get to go to college who would not otherwise have had the opportunity.”
