We are thrilled to launch, From the Desk of Kim Mazzuca, a new monthly series focused on our efforts and commitment to achieving educational equity and featuring our students and alumni and how they are making an impact in our world.
At 10,000 Degrees, students like Reeti are breaking barriers and driving change in their communities. As she prepares to graduate from Sonoma State this year, Reeti affirms her commitment to creating meaningful, lasting impact in the world.

The data is clear: college graduates lead healthier, more prosperous lives, are more likely to vote and volunteer, and raise the next generation of college graduates—opening doors for others through their example.
But beyond the numbers, we witness it daily: tens of thousands of our alumni – like Reeti – using their education to uplift their families, strengthen their communities, and lead with purpose in their workplaces.
In these consequential times, we will not be deterred. We will continue to pursue educational equity until it is realized. No matter the obstacles, we remain steadfast in our belief that every student can access educational opportunities, regardless of their zip code, background, or circumstances. This is not just a goal—it’s our responsibility.
Until then, we will not rest. Thank you for joining us in our pursuit of educational equity.
In community,
Kim Mazzuca
