Throughout my career, I have been dedicated to creating opportunities for diverse college student populations to access higher education and become leaders, and that is where I feel I’ve made my biggest impact.
Whether starting my career at a college access/success nonprofit, where I mentored over 100 first-generation, low-income college students, creating orientation programming for 1,700 students centered on the principles of diversity, inclusion, belonging, and equity, or becoming a board member of a scholarship program in my home community, I have always focused on diversifying and improving systems of higher education.
I know none of this would have been possible if I hadn’t gotten the chance to attend and be transformed by my higher education experience, and 10,000 Degrees played an integral role in helping college feel possible and accessible to me. 10,000 Degrees proves that all it takes is the right people to support you in changing your life, and I am committed to being a champion of students looking to change their (and their families’) lives through education.
