I first became involved with 10,000 Degrees after its 2018 merger with the Meritus College Fund, as I had volunteered for Meritus and served on its board. 10,000 Degrees has a proven track record and an efficient, scalable model that supports thousands of students, whether they start at a community college or 4-year institution.
10,000 Degrees approach aligns with my belief in higher education’s power to transform lives. A college education enhances a graduate’s employment opportunities, lifetime earnings, and overall mental health. But underserved students often lack access to these benefits due to a gap between their ambitions and the resources required to attain a college degree.
That’s why supporting 10,000 Degrees is important to me. They bridge this gap so more students can graduate and secure rewarding careers and other benefits. And as a community member and employer in the Bay Area, I see the personal, civic, and professional value in helping individuals who might otherwise lack the opportunities to earn a degree and access broader employment options.
I feel honored and proud to contribute financially to 10,000 Degrees, having witnessed its positive impact. I hope that my support helps more students achieve their educational and career goals, improves our community, and encourages others to give back.
