Being financially independent was my biggest barrier to college, as my parents couldn’t support my education. However, 10,000 Degrees helped immensely, providing scholarships that relieved stress and covered expenses, and offering guidance whenever I had questions. As a first-generation Latina, attending college has a huge positive impact on my family and community, proving that higher education is possible even when the odds are against you. I aspire to be a role model for young Latina women, inspiring them to chase their dreams.
