Community college gives scholars the flexibility to pursue the path that best fits their goals. It offers career programs, certificates, associate degrees, transfer opportunities, and a strong pathway to a bachelor’s degree.

By providing scholars with access to a quality education, community colleges open doors that lead to academic, career, and personal growth. The importance of community college continues to grow, serving as a powerful driver of upward mobility and providing so many possibilities for our students.

Summer Bridge Programs

Many community colleges offer Summer Bridge programs designed to help graduating seniors successfully transition into college. Most programs provide English support, and have the shared goal of preparing scholars to complete priority enrollment steps, increase scholars’ confidence and study habits, connect scholars to campus resources, and facilitate a positive learning community.

For example, we partner each year with College of Marin, a community college in Kentfield, CA, to prepare first-generation college scholars beginning classes in the fall. The program helps hundreds of scholars improve their English placement test scores, develop good study habits, learn about available campus resources, and create their academic plan.
