10,000 Degrees is the leading, equity-focused scholarship provider and college success nonprofit in California. Last year we awarded $8.8 million in scholarships and leveraged $58 million in free financial aid for over 4,300 college students in the Bay Area and Utah. 100% of our students come from low income backgrounds; 93% are BIPOC; 92% are the first in their family to attend college.
10,000 Degrees provides scholarships to students with significant financial need and who exhibit a strong desire to go to college and accomplish their educational goals. We have no GPA requirement and many of our scholarships are renewable! Our scholarship recipients are often the first in their family to attend and graduate college. We award scholarships primarily to students in the regions we serve in the Bay Area and Utah.
10,000 Degrees helps students leverage free financial aid for students. Each 10,000 Degrees student is paired with a Fellow who supports them in learning about the types of free financial aid available, which application to fill out, the various deadlines, and more.
