We're here to help students get to and through college—and beyond.
From college dreams to graduation day, we provide near-peer support, resources, mentorship, and more.
Financial Aid & Scholarships
Students who attend one of our partner high schools and want to go to college—but don’t believe they can afford it—are encouraged to apply to the 10,000 Degrees Scholarship and view our list of Outside Scholarships. Last year, we awarded $8.8 million to 4,300+ students, and 92% are first in their family to attend college! Our Fellows can also help you apply for free financial aid.
We are dedicated to helping high school students from low-income backgrounds get to college, whether they enroll at a 4-year university or community college. Students at our partner high schools can receive support from Fellows right on campus, and attend financial aid and college readiness workshops and events all year.
After a high school student is awarded a 10,000 Degrees scholarship, our support doesn’t end with a check! From day one to graduation day, scholarship recipients may receive one-to-one support from our trained Fellows, who provide ongoing mentorship right on campus at our partner colleges or virtually, if they attend a non-Bay Area or non-partner campus. We’ll be there during their entire college journey, whether they start at a community college or 4-year college.
All current 10,000 Degrees scholarship recipients and alumni can participate in our Career and Alumni Success program, which provides career mentorship, an informational newsletter, internship opportunities, networking events, and more.
From campus to global impact, our students and alumni from low-income backgrounds are breaking barriers and shaping a brighter future for us all. Hear from 10,000 Degrees students and alumni – their college and career journey and plans for making an impact in the lives of their family and community.
