10,000 Degrees and Sonoma State University Partnership Expands Access to Higher Education And Ensures A Pathway For 10,000 Degrees Students To Attend Sonoma State University
10,000 Degrees Students Will Also Receive Priority Consideration For Certain Scholarships, Student Housing Deposit Deferrals, And Tailored Support Services
San Rafael, Calif. (November 12, 2024) – 10,000 Degrees, a Bay Area organization dedicated to unlocking student success at scale by giving more students equitable opportunities for a high-quality college education and career success, and Sonoma State University (SSU) today announced a new partnership that ensures 10,000 Degrees students who meet university admission requirements are guaranteed admission to SSU. Additionally, 10,000 Degrees students will receive priority consideration for certain scholarships, be eligible for student housing deposit deferrals, and receive additional access to advisors and support services.
Guaranteed Admissions is an SSU initiative that ensures all high school and community college students have a clear pathway and equal access to higher education opportunities. Through this partnership, 10,000 Degrees will work closely with SSU to identify and support students who meet the program’s criteria.
This program is effective immediately for 10,000 Degrees students applying to SSU for Fall 2025. The Guaranteed Admissions initiative will provide the following:
- 10,000 Degrees students who meet university admission requirements will receive guaranteed admission to SSU.
- 10,000 Degrees students will receive priority consideration for Presidential Scholarships or other types of recruitment scholarships, subject to funding availability.
- Residential Education and Campus Housing (REACH) will work with 10,000 Degrees students to provide deposit deferrals on an individual student basis.
- 10,000 Degrees and SSU will work together to support 10,000 Degrees students by providing advising and tailored support services to ensure they are equipped with the necessary resources they need to thrive while attending SSU and to complete their college education.
