What Is a 10,000 Degrees Brand Ambassador?

As a 10,000 Degrees Brand Ambassador, you’ll play a vital role by sharing your story through interviews, events, and other opportunities to help raise awareness and support for our mission.

What to expect

For the calendar year in which you sign up, you may be asked to fulfill your role as a 10,000 Degrees Brand Ambassador in one or more of the following ways:

Share Your Story:

Staff will schedule an interview to discuss your 10,000 Degrees experience.
Your story (after your review/approval) may be shared in social media posts, marketing materials, email communications
You control how much you share and can review/approve how your story is presented.
You’ll sign a media release form.

Participate in Media Interviews:

Journalists frequently request interviews with 10,000 Degrees students/alumni.
Get media training (tricky questions, comfortable sharing, questions).
You can request a 10,000 Degrees staff member accompany you.
Respond to interview requests promptly (sometimes within 24 hours).

Participate in 10,000 Degrees Events/Fundraisers:

If invited to speak about your 10,000 Degrees experience at fundraising events, you’ll receive:

Public speaking/speech writing training.
Transportation costs reimbursed.
Food/drink at the event.

How Often Will I Be Asked to Be an Ambassador?

That’s much tougher to answer. With the media, sometimes we get requests to interview multiple students when there’s a topic that’s trending that 10,000 Degrees is an expert on, like FAFSA. Sometimes, the media doesn’t reach out for months! For events, we host these throughout the year in different regions; students will be selected based on their location, story, and interest in public speaking.
