Financial Aid Advisors are an essential part of our program model, dedicated to helping scholars navigate the complex financial aid landscape and access the resources needed to achieve their postsecondary goals. By bringing specialized expertise in financial aid advising, application process, and resource navigation, Financial Aid Advisors ensure scholars and families receive timely, accurate and equitable support that strengthens college access, persistence and completion.Â
As a cross-functional resource across our programs, the Financial Aid Impact Team partners with College Access and College and Career Success teams to embed financial aid knowledge and strategies throughout the scholar experience. They collaborate with staff to identify financial barriers, strengthen advising practices and ensure scholars have the information and tools needed to make informed decisions about financing their education.Â
Beyond direct scholar support, Financial Aid Advisors serve as subject matter experts and capacity builders for our teams. They equip Fellows, College & Career Coaches and program staff with the knowledge, resources, and confidence to incorporate financial aid conversations into their work and better support scholars at key transition points.
Providing Direct Support
- Guiding scholars and families through the financial aid process, including applications, eligibility requirements, deadlines, and next steps.
- Supporting scholars in identifying and accessing financial resources, including grants, scholarships, and other forms of aid.
