As a first generation Vietnamese, I am the very first in my entire family to attain both a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree. Growing up in a predominantly low income Latino neighborhood, I was 1 out of 20 Vietnamese families in the canal who broke the odds of achieving this level of academic/financial success, and I now lead by example. 10,000 Degrees played a role by showing that it’s possible to get into a 4 year college and graduate debt free, no matter how far behind I was in achieving that.
I represent First Generation/Immigrant Families out there to help close the financial gap for our community. It takes one conversation to believe there’s a way to build generational wealth, a way to escape the cycle of poverty, a way to change your whole life’s trajectory… and it starts by having a conversation with me.
