Yoel Iskindir

As a first-gen child of African refugees, 10,000 Degrees was pivotal in my path to college. My mentors there offered me the guidance to pursue higher education, and the confidence to later serve as a Campus Ambassador. 10,000 Degrees showed me the power of contributing to my community by amplifying often overlooked voices, both through my work in film and as a teacher in the classroom. I create independent media rooted in social justice, crafted to spark change and uplift artists of color, all while fostering creativity and self-expression in students. Seeing our community strive to determine its future in dynamic ways has been a privilege!
