10,000 Degrees stands out for its strong management and the talent of the individuals involved. We have the resources and expertise, and everyone is deeply committed to our mission of supporting students and making a real difference.
Expanding educational opportunities is vital as it transforms lives, boosts economic mobility, breaks cycles of poverty, and sets up future generations for success. This is especially vital for the African American community, where opportunities can be limited.
Being part of this success story is exciting. Few people witness the real impact of their work as directly as we do. It is fulfilling to help students transition from high school to successful careers—and to share in their journey. I’ve learned a lot from listening to the inspiring stories of our Fellows and students, like Alejandra, our speaker at a recent Contra Costa event. Hearing of her road to success highlights how helping one student can benefit their entire family and community.
I feel good about making an impact through my work. My role allows me to show how education can foster change, and to raise funds and awareness for students who need support.
