“I have been with 10,000 Degrees since my sophomore year at Terra Linda High School. They have guided me and supported me throughout the college experience as a first generation student. My parents immigrated from Mexico in their 20s, with only a middle school education. They never went to college and hoped for me to achieve my dreams and go to college. 10,000 Degrees guided me when I applied to colleges out of high-school and supported me when I wanted to transfer to SRJC from Sacramento State to start new. They have always been there for me as a student but also as family. They gave me the support I needed to take a gap year and transfer when I was ready. I’m grateful for them to give me the support and confidence to continue my education regardless of the situations in my life.”
