College was challenging for me as an undocumented student dealing with imposter syndrome and academic struggles. However, the consistent support and encouragement from 10,000 Degrees and my Fellows were instrumental to my success and helped me develop a sense of belonging.
Now, as a Fellow at my former high school, I am using my experiences to support and inspire my students, particularly the many undocumented students who struggle with similar issues of belonging or lack of resources. I make it a point to be genuine and relatable by sharing my story, helping them feel seen and supported.
What really sets 10,000 Degrees apart is its strong sense of community and consistent support for students. We don’t just offer resources—we’re continuously present. I’m proud to be part of this program, to see students grow, and to witness their success stories—a reminder of the importance of this work.
Being a Fellow at 10,000 Degrees has given me a sense of purpose. I’m excited to continue supporting and advocating for students, and contributing to their success and growth. It’s been an incredibly fulfilling journey, and motivates me to continue making an impact in students’ lives.
