“The obstacles I encountered when pursuing my college degree was being a full-time time student while working a part-time job. It was difficult to manage my time and not procrastinate when I’d have days packed with work or school. I’d have to stay up most nights to get assignments completed while making sure that I was also taking care of myself.
If it weren’t for my involvement with 10,000 Degrees, my college journey would’ve been way more rocky. 10,000 Degrees has helped me with everything! When it came to my FAFSA application, finding an on-campus job, snacks, and more, they were always there to help. I am genuinely grateful for their guidance.
The impact attending college has had on my family is definitely a good one. My family is proud of me, just for simply attending college and working hard. They see my grit and passion for school, and couldn’t be happier.
I want to change the world for the better by showing that Latinx can obtain a college degree even with all odds against them. I want to show them that with hard work, determination, and discipline, it can be done.
I am ONE Degree of Change because I am pursuing a higher education.”
