Your Roadmap to College​

The 10,000 Degrees College Opportunities Summit is a summer college success program that focuses on supporting rising high school seniors in San Francisco and San Jose prepare for their senior year and post-secondary education through a FREE one-day in-person event filled with engaging workshops and fun activities led by recent college graduates.

Priority Deadline: Friday, April 5, 2024
Students who apply for priority will receive an “acceptance” or “waitlist” decision by Friday, April 19, 2024

Final Deadline: Friday, May 17, 2024
Students who apply before or on the final deadline will receive an “acceptance” or “waitlist” decision by Friday, May 24, 2024 based on program space

Final Waitlist decisions:
All students placed on a waitlist will be notified no later than one week before your program date

This program is designed for first-generation, low-income, and underrepresented students who will be rising high school seniors this summer 2024.

San Francisco Unified School District:

  • Ida B. Wells High School
  • Downtown High School
  • Thurgood Marshall High School
  • San Francisco International High School

East Side Union High School District:

  • Andrew P. Hill High School
  • Independence High School
  • William C. Overfelt High School
  • Yerba Buena High School

If you do not attend one of the schools above you will be placed on a waitlist for the event taking place in your county based on program space availability. Students will be notified by Friday, June 21 if they have been assigned a program session.

More information about transportation options will be provided to students upon acceptance into the program.

There will be a virtual Parent Night in English and Spanish on Wednesday, May 29 from 6:30–7:30 PM. Zoom information will be sent to all parents and guardians of students who are accepted to the program. Parents and Guardians are invited to learn…

  • What their student’s options are post-high school and their respective admission requirements
  • How 10,000 Degrees can support their student during their senior year and beyond

Yes! If a student participates in another college access program that provides similar services to 10,000 Degrees, they can still participate in the 10,000 Degrees College Opportunities Summit, provided that it does not conflict with other summer programming offered by other college access organizations.

Students attending a partner high school site will have access to FREE year-round workshops and support from a near-peer 10,000 Degrees Fellow. Students will receive email and text updates for upcoming financial aid workshops, college application workshops, and other events to support their matriculation to college. In addition, all students will receive support in completing a 10,000 Degrees Scholarship application!
