Jaden Melton Dreher is a San Francisco native whose journey has been defined by a deep commitment to community and global understanding. As an undergraduate at UC Davis, Jaden co-founded Build Black, an organization created to support Black students navigating the transition to college and to expand access and opportunities for underrepresented communities. His vision helped build a lasting network of support for students who might otherwise have faced that journey alone.
Driven by curiosity about the world, Jaden pursued academic experiences in Washington, DC, Egypt, and the United Kingdom, immersing himself in diverse cultures, economic systems, and policy landscapes. These experiences shaped a global perspective that continues to inform his approach to complex challenges.
In his final year, Jaden turned his attention to one of the most pressing issues facing communities today, conducting undergraduate research on gun violence and its effects on Black women, to understand its roots and impact.
In recognition of his leadership and service, Jaden has received two Certificates of Honor from the City and County of San Francisco, honoring his contributions to the community and his commitment to advancing equity.
Through advocacy, scholarship, and service, Jaden Melton Dreher exemplifies what it means to lead with purpose: building bridges, empowering others, and working toward a more equitable future.
