Ronald Phelps

I was born and raised in San Francisco’s Sunnydale Projects, where I learned early that hard work, education, and determination could create opportunities beyond my circumstances. After graduating from Abraham Lincoln High School, my dedication to football and academics earned me an athletic scholarship to attend college. I went on to earn Associate Degrees in Sociology and Criminal Justice from City College of San Francisco and a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Northeastern State University.

After college, I returned home with a purpose—to give back to the communities that helped shape me. Today, after years of serving diverse populations throughout San Francisco, I am the Lead Case Manager at The Salvation Army’s Railton Place. My journey from Sunnydale to where I am today continues to remind me why I do this work: to serve, lead, and help create opportunities for others to succeed.
